Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups is still waiting for the Damian Lillard trade request to be resolved as he still does not know what the team’s roster will look like next season.
Billups, who is a former NBA star himself, went through a similar experience as a player while playing for the Nuggets alongside Carmelo Anthony. He admits that it is a difficult situation to be in and that it’s a distraction.
The coach also revealed that he has talked to Lillard about the whole situation, but refused to share anything that was discussed privately.
“I would never share any things that I speak to him about with anybody,” Billups said, on SiriusXM NBA Radio, via HoopsHype. “Dame and I are very close. We talk intimately about a lot of things. A lot of this has been a lot of it. Those are all conversations that I would never share.”
