Scoot Henderson will undergo an MRI after gaining a right shoulder injury in his Summer League debut for the Portland Trail Blazers this Friday, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

Haynes pointed out that there is an optimism that Henderson didn’t dislocate his shoulder.

The No. 3 overall pick of this year’s draft left the game prematurely after sustaining a shoulder injury on their tournament opener against the Houston Rockets in the third frame. He finished the match with 15 points (13 in Q1), six assists, five rebounds, and a steal in 21 minutes of play for Portland.

Meanwhile, Top 4 pick Amen Thompson also had a separate injury as he didn’t return to the game after an apparent left ankle injury in the final period. The promising cager dropped 16 points, four rebounds, five assists, three steals, and four blocks in 28 minutes.

Per Tim MacMahon of ESPN, a source has noted that Thompson’s sprain is not considered serious, and the Rockets prospect is leaving it up to the club if he will still continue to play in the Summer League amid safety and injury risks.

The Rockets prevailed in an endgame over the Blazers as Jabari Smith Jr. drains the game-winning trey to chunk a game-high 33 markers and seven boards.
