Dennis Schroder completed his second spell with the Lakers. This time the team went all the way to the Western Conference Finals and the German point guard enjoyed a significant role on the roster.

This summer Schroder became an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team. But his preference is to come back to the Lakers for a third year.

“Whenever the Lakers hopefully come to me and say, ‘Listen, this is what we can do and this is what the situation is and we want to keep you,’ then we’re going to see if they really appreciate what I did,” Schroder said, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN. “I know, end of the day, it’s a business is what I’m saying, and it’s a lot of factors around it as well.”

“I would love to come back because I know the guys now. My second year with AD and Bron went really well. Even when D-Lo came, AR, a lot of ball handlers, I still found my way.”

According to Marc Stein, the interest is mutual as the Purple and Gold are eager to re-sign Schroder.

This past season Schroder averaged 12.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 30.1 minutes per game.
