Even before he solidified himself as the ultimate prospect of this NBA era, Victor Wembanyama already got bold missions to fulfill as he is about to become the top overall pick of this year’s draft.
He told Ben Golliver of the Washington Post that he has his focus in hoisting the 2023-24 Rookie of the Year while becoming much more familiar towards winning.
Wembanyama’s desire can’t be more realistic given that he is set to be chosen by the San Antonio Spurs, who boasts one of the best development programs in the association.
As such, San Antonio got the significant blueprint of success with Gregg Popovich sitting at the helm. With Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, the long-time mentor guided the Spurs to five titles and a dynastic state in the NBA for nearly 20 years.
The NBA Draft is just less than 24 hours away, and Wembanyama appears truly excited about the bright future he is about to welcome as the newest San Antonio cornerstone.
