adidas Officially Brings Back Eurocamp for the 16th Edition Showcasing the Next Generation of Elite Basketball Athletes

(Treviso, Italy) — Over this past weekend, adidas Basketball welcomed the return of adidas Eurocamp, showcasing the most skilled hoopers from Europe, North America and Asia to demonstrate their talents for the opportunity to receive a breakout pro basketball career. 

Led by Coaching Director Bill Bayno and NBA Executive and Scouting Director Gianluca Pascucci, the boys teams were lead by an all-star coaching staff; Dell DempsDave Joerger and NBA alums Rajon Rondo and Josh Smith

On Friday, Eurocamp had a strong start including the following teams playing off in the first round; Eurocamp 2 vs. Team Asia, USA Select vs Next Gen and 3SSB Select vs Eurocamp 2. Eurocamp 2, beat Team Asia by 109-49 and 3SSB Select by 93-76. USA Select won against Next Gen by 90 to 86 with the help of VJ Edgecombe, with 29 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. 

Day two featured the following competing teams play: USA Select vs. Eurocamp 1, 3SSB Select vs Team Asia and Next Gen vs Eurocamp 1. A close game between USA Select and Eurocamp 1 ended in 73-72 and 3SSB Select beat Team Asia by 95-75. A quarter 2 win 13-32 closed the match against Team Next Gen with Ousmane Ndiaye scoring 19 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. 

Along with the all-star players and coaches, the camp welcomed NBA Star and former San Antonio Spurs Guard Tony Parker, Houston Rocket Forward Jabari Smith Jr., Indiana Pacers Small Forward/Shooting Guard Bennedict Mathurin and LA Clippers Center Ivica Zubac in supporting training and development of the boys teams.

Day 3 of adidas Eurocamp ends in Eurocamp 2 winning the championship against USA Select with a score of 89 to 60 with stand-out players Nadir Hifi (17 points) and Lucas Ugolin (14 points). Hifi takes the title of MVP with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Eurocamp 1 beat 3SSB by 96 to 55 and Next Gen won against Team Asia with 105 to 59. 

In continuation of adidas’ commitment to inclusivity in sport, this week Eurocamp debuted its inaugural Girls Camp featuring female athletes for the first time with Vanja Cernivec serving as Coaching Director.
