Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is ailing with a sore right tailbone during Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Finals, per Marc J. Spears of Andscape. As such, he confirmed that he will still be good to go heading to Game 2.

It remains unclear when did Caldwell-Pope sustained the injury, but he appeared struggling throughout his play in the Nuggets’ title series opener against the Miami Heat as he shot 3-of-8 from the field en route to seven points in 36 minutes of play.

The veteran’s reliable 3-and-D presence has been integral throughout Denver’s magical postseason quest this year, but his injury could force coach Michael Malone to limit his minutes and allot it to bench spark plug Bruce Brown.

Caldwell-Pope and the Nuggets will look to go up 2-0 against the Heat as the championship series continues on Sunday.
