The news comes amidst speculation about the future of the Warriors’ front office. While team owner Joe Lacob reportedly made a lucrative offer to retain Myers, it seems that the experienced executive has made the decision to step away from his current role.
Interestingly, it has been emphasized that financial considerations played no role in Myers’ choice, as he is looking to take a break from the demanding nature of the job.
Myers first joined the organization in 2011 as an assistant general manager before quickly ascending to the position of general manager the following year. During his tenure, the Warriors won four NBA championships.
