The Lakers lost Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Nuggets (108-119) to go down 0-3 in the series and are now facing elimination in Game 4.

Lakers legend James Worthy thinks that the loss was a combination of Denver being a very good team and Los Angeles making bad mistakes.

“There’s a reason why Denver has been the best in the West and one of the best teams in the NBA,” Worthy said on Sectrum SportsNet. “They’re disciplined, they’re well coached and they’re versatile. Very smart team. So you have to be ready to play.

“My hat’s off to Denver because they execute well. Without Jokic – Jokic in foul trouble – they’re still able to maintain and sustain the Lakers comeback. So yeah, they’re the best.”

As for the Lakers, Worthy pointed at costly mistakes in crucial situations as well as rushing shots on offense.

“But the Lakers could not figure out the [Jamal] Murray situation once again,” he said. “They did a great job of coming back they just could not take advantage of their effort. Turnovers in critical situations. Quicks shots again without exploring the offense and making the defense work. And Denver took advantage of that.”
