The Washington Wizards have interviewed L.A. Clippers general manager Michael Winger for their head of basketball operations vacancy, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Winger has been the general manager of the Clippers since 2017. Amid attempts of several teams to lure him away from the Los Angeles camp, he still maintained his standing to remain as a Clipper executive.

Working alongside team president Lawrence Frank, Winger made huge acquisitional splashes for the Clippers which includes the joining of both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George last 2019 offseason.

Winger previously held the assistant general manager position of the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2010 to 2018. He also had a stop as a director of basketball operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers for five years.

The Wizards also reportedly conducted an interview with New Orleans Pelicans GM Trajan Langdon. They are looking to fill the president of basketball operations opening upon the dismissal of Tommy Sheppard back in April.

After missing the playoffs for back-to-back years, Washington is looking to remodel their lineup with an important offseason looming.
