Lonnie Walker IV after Game 3: “It felt like a dream”

It has been a lopsided year for Lonnie Walker IV. For the first three months of the season he was in the Lakers starting lineup playing big minutes and scoring more than 20 points on many occasions.

Since the start of this year, his playing time has been shrinking to the point that usually he has been sitting on the bench the entire games.

It has been the same story so far in the playoffs. The 24-year-old guard has played in 6 of 9 games and his minutes were very limited.

Walker did get a chance to play more though in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Warriors. He played 24 minutes and scored 12 points as Los Angeles crushed their opponents 127-97.

“It felt like a dream,” Walker said after the game. “I’ve been talking about being able to play in the playoffs and play in some type of atmosphere like that, I had the time of my life. I can’t explain. [I’m] taking it day-to-day and just being ready.”
