Panathinaikos Athens found a new floor general and court leader in Nick Calathes, who inked a three-year deal with the Greek powerhouse on Wednesday night. Calathes (1.97 meters, 26 years old) is in his second stint with Panathinaikos, to which he helped win back-to-back Greek League titles in 2010 and 2011, lift the Greek Cup trophy in 2012 and above all, conquer the club’s sixth Turkish Airlines Euroleague title in 2011. Calathes played for Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in the 2012-13 season, earning Eurocup MVP honors and leading it to win the competition, averaging 12.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 17 games. Calathes arrives from Memphis of the NBA, where he played in the last two seasons. In his three Euroleague campaigns with Panathinaikos, Calathes accumulated 330 points and 113 assists in 59 career games.
