One of the main side stories of the first round series between the Lakers and Grizzlies is confrontation between LeBron James and Dillon Brooks.
The Memphis forward who earned himself a reputation of a villain has been trash talking the four-time NBA champion throughout the series.
Brooks and James exchanged words before Game 3 which was won by the Lakers 111-101. The former got ejected from the game after hitting LeBron in the groin.
The crowd in Los Angeles stood behind James and booed Brooks at every opportunity. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham was asked about that after the game.
“I think anyone trying to express any doubt toward [LeBron James] and the level at which he’s playing at, they way we turned things around over the course of the season, that just puts fire under all of us, especially him,” Ham said. He’s just going about his business like he’s always done.
“We felt like we were less than ourselves in Game 2. with some of the things that we didn’t get done. So, tonight having that time, that break to really go back and focus on some of the things they did, but also diving to what we needed to do, it just is what it is.
“And all the other stuff, those theatrics that’s for the fans. That’s why they pay for their tickets to come out cheer, boo depending on the environment you’re in whether you’re home or away, which player it is. It’s all fan based.
“It’s great, it makes the game intriguing, suspenseful. But for us it’s about going out and taking care of our business and making sure that we’re doing a good job with our assignment
