Steph Curry after Game 3: “This is what we’re supposed to do”

Steph Curry dropped game-high 36 points in Game 3 against the Kings as he led the Warriors to the win (114-97). Golden State is now 1-2 in the series and will have a chance to tie it in Game 4 at home.

“This is what we’re supposed to do,” Curry said when asked if this was vintage Warriors with their backs against the wall. “Being those two guys [Draymond Green and Gary Payton II] who bring so much to our defensive side and just our identity as a whole, we had to have guys step up.

“Obviously understand consequences if we lost tonight and nobody wanted to feel that. It was a very focused effort. Great energy from everybody that stepped foot on the floor. The defensive numbers were amazing tonight.

“You might be surprised considering Draymond and GP II were out. It’s just the way that we are able to kind of galvanize a great effort.

“Donte [DiVincenzo] played amazing off the bench. Mo[ses] Moody gave us great minutes. JK [Jonathan Kuminga] the same. J-Mike [JaMychal Green], A-Lamb [Anthony Lamb], everybody who stepped foot on the floor in the rotations understood their assignments and did it to the best of their ability.

“When we get our two guys back, we got to continue to do that whatever you’re asked to do. We got a great opportunity to even the series on Sunday and take it from there.”
