Nicolo Melli leaves Milano, heads to Bamberg

One of the best young European forwards switched Turkish Airlines Euroleague teams with the announcement Tuesday that Brose Baskets Bamberg has penned Nicolo Melli to a two-year deal.

Melli (2.05 meters, 24 years old) arrives from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, where he averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 24 Euroleague games last season, helping the team reach the Top 16 and the Italian Cup title game.

He started his career with Reggio Emilia, joining Milan in 2010. In 2014, he helped Milan win the Italian League title – the club’s first since 1996 – and reach the Euroleague playoffs for the first time. Melli is also a member of the Italian national team. He helped the Italian U20 national team reach the 2011 European Championships final, losing against Spain.
