Coby White on his future with Bulls

Coby White completed his fourth year with the Bulls. This summer he will become a restricted free agent for the first time in his career.

While he will not be in control of his own destiny this offseason, the 23-year-old point guard says he would like to return to Chicago next season.

“It’s new for me obviously being a restricted free agent,” he said during end of season media availability. “I hope it works out for the best. I love Chicago, love my teammates, I love the front office.

“I would like to be back, but a lot of that it’s not in my control. It’s a business at the end of the day and I understand decisions have to be made. So, if I’m back, great. But if I’m not, you got to live with it.”

White admits that getting a starting position would be something that he would consider even if the contract was lower in terms of money.

“I think it would be a conversation,” the player said. “Obviously that’s my goal. So, I think ir definitely could be a conversation and figure things out from there. Obviously that’s still my goal and that hasn’t changed.”

This season White averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 23.4 minutes per game. He started twice in 74 games that he played for the Bulls this year.
