Apparently, Anthony Edwards dealt with some significant pain that could have affected his lowly performance against the Los Angeles Lakers in their Tuesday Play-In contest.

Per Chris Finch, Edwards was dealing with some “cramping” throughout the matchup against the Lakers, but the head coach got no idea about the star shooting guard’s left shoulder that inflicted serious pain in the third frame.

“I don’t know about the shoulder. At one time it was cramping, so that was what was told to me on the bench,” said Finch.

Edwards took an awkward fall right at the 3:41 mark of the third frame, wherein he bit the fake shot attempt of Rui Hachimura and landed awkwardly. He missed the start of the fourth frame and only made a return to the game with a heavily taped left shoulder.

Edwards had a disappointing offensive showing against the Lakers with the playoff seat on the line, finishing with nine points on 3-for-17 shooting. He also bricked all of his nine three-point shot attempts, but made a great job of containing D’Angelo Russell who had a horrible scoring night of having two markers in 11 percent shooting.

With Edwards added to the handicapped list, the Timberwolves are in a tougher condition for a playoff slot fight as they head to the must-win game on Friday, waiting to face the winner of the New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder this Wednesday.
