Ryan Toolson leaves Unicaja Malaga, joins Zenit

Ryan Toolson has brought his near three-year Spanish odyssey to an end after the guard left Unicaja Malaga to join Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Misko Razantovic tweeted the news earlier on Twitter with Toolson reportedly on a two-year deal.

Toolson spent two seasons with Unicaja Malaga and averaged 11 points, shooting a highly accurate 50 percent from the three-point line.

Before his move to Malaga, Toolson spent a season at Gran Canaria.

This moves means that Toolson will be playing in the Eurocup, rather than the Euroleague. The draw for the Eurocup was made yesterday with Zenit drawn in Group E alongside Besiktas, Lietuvos Rytas, newcomers Avtodor Saratov and PAOK.
