The situation within the Toronto Raptors camp has been drawing a lot of chatter, especially with head coach Nick Nurse dishing out a cryptic statement last week with regards to his future on the team.

Toronto, who will finish the 2022-23 regular season crashing to the play-in tournament, has been swarmed by rumors that they may likely adapt a new coaching regime soon.

Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, Ime Udoka is considered a likely candidate to replace Nurse as the Raptors’ head coach. The embattled former Boston Celtics coach was a finalist in the team’s 2018 coaching hunt which was won by Nurse, and he got ties with top executive Masai Ujiri due to that African roots and their partnership within the Basketball Without Borders program.

Meanwhile, Nurse may find his way down to the Houston Rockets, who may replace head coach Stephen Silas. Silas is also sitting on a coaching hot seat as the past three years with the young team has shown lack of progress with their rebuild project. Nurse got familiarity with Houston as he served as the head coach of their G League affiliate in Rio Grande Valley Vipers from 2011 to 2013.

Fischer noted that James Harden, the franchise ex-superstar, could serve as a factor on the Rockets’ probable chase for a new bench boss, wherein Portland Trail Blazers assistant Scott Brooks and Phoenix Suns assistant Rex Kalamian could be on the radar.
