Former NBA star Tracy McGrady shared his thoughts on this year’s MVP race. The seven-time NBA All-Star picked Nikola Jokic to win the prestigious award.

“Both of these guys – I have Jokic and Embiid at one and two – I think they’re equally have an advantage to win it. I’m leaning towards Jokic because he’s not playing with an All-Star, his team is number one in the West, 29 triple-doubles, and to me he gets everybody involved. He has an impact.

“He’s not a defensive player like Embiid, but I think his impact that he does so much so many other things that really equals out to what Embiid brings to his team. The man is incredible. Seven-foot bringing the ball up the court, initiating the offense, the passing. Come one man.”

This season Jokic, reigning two-time MVP, is averaging 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds and 9.9 assists in 33.9 minutes per game.
