Draymond Green on trash talking Pelicans: “It was beautiful”

The Warriors came back from behind to defeat the Pelicans (120-109) and kept the sixth place in the Western Conference.

It was a tense game with trash talking from both sides. Draymond Green was very vocal and earned a technical foul for his altercation with Brandon Ingram.

After the game the four-time NBA champion was asked by Chris Haynes what motivated him in the second half. “It’s a good hard foul and CJ [McCollum] started talking,” Green said. “Don’t start talking, play the game and just enjoy what y’all were doing.

“They were playing a good game and he started talking. And that’s my type of game. I like that. That’s what I do. I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. That’s how we play. So once they wanted to go there, I enjoyed that.”

“Coach trusted me, Steve [Kerr] trusted me to play with those four fouls. And they made the decision to go at me the very next play and it was turnover and that changes the game because all of a sudden you thought you get my fifth and now you allowing me to talk again. And that was beautiful.”

“I just told them they were not cut like that,” Green said when asked what was his message to the Pelicans. “We’re all good guys. I’m not acting like I’m a bad guy. But I like to talk and play. That really gets me going. That’s not everybody’s game.”
