Dillon Brooks facing suspension again after 18th technical vs Mavs

Upon triggering his 18th technical foul of the season in a 112-108 Memphis Grizzlies win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, Dillon Brooks is set to be slapped with another one-game suspension by the NBA.

Brooks absorbed the call during the third frame of the match, flushing a left-handed jam over Maxi Kleber. To his excitement, the Grizzlies forward taunted the Mavs bench, specifically Theo Pinson, with a celebration while moving away to continue the play.

Under the rules, the NBA will hand a player another suspension without pay should he gain two more technicals after breaching the league’s limit of 16 counts in a regular season.

Should the NBA not rescind this assessment by officials until Tuesday, Brooks will be absent once again without pay, as Memphis is set to play the Houston Rockets up next this Wednesday. Brooks was already handed by the league a suspension against the L.A. Clippers on Mar. 5 after drawing his 16th foul of the season against the Denver Nuggets.

Brooks was joined by Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green last week as a player who has compiled 16 technical fouls and counting this 2022-23 season.
