As he picked up his 16th technical foul this season against the L.A. Clippers, Draymond Green is slated to be slapped with an automatic one-game suspension by the NBA.

The Golden State Warriors are set to face the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Green, who got 15 technicals entering Wednesday night, was assessed with the said violation call upon throwing the ball towards Russell Westbrook’s head with 40 seconds left in the first half of the match.

The league has 24 hours to decide if the said play by Green can be considered a technical act or not, but the veteran believes that it will be eventually overturned.

“I think that something will change,” Green said in his postgame. “Every word you say on the court is a tech, so we’ll see.”

Green was also involved in a risky, next sequence wherein both he and Marcus Morris Sr. were tangled up in a tough box-out battle. Morris Sr. swung his arm to hit and force Green to go down as the two were separated while jawing with each other. The Clippers forward was then assessed with a Flagrant 2, ending his night prematurely.

With the Wednesday 134-126 loss, the Warriors were sent moving down to a 36-34 record that currently stands sixth in the Western Conference.

With 12 games left to their season, Golden State understands the urgency, and impact of either following wins and losses, as well as the availability of their units as they try to keep hopes of a championship repeat still alive.

Andrew Wiggins has been out indefinitely due to personal reasons, and an added absence of Green will truly blow their chances to make a comfortable position in the playoff seedings.

Should Green’s technical against the Clippers go counted, he’ll join Dillon Brooks as players who have reached the league’s 16 technical foul limits this season.
