The San Antonio Spurs announced Wednesday their initial diagnosis of a non-displaced patella fracture on Charles Bassey. He will be out for the remainder of the 2022-22 season.
Bassey sustained the injury during the first half of the Spurs’ road win over the Orlando Magic.
As a big young man, his absence limits him to perform and be assessed further in his growth with Spurs looking to wrap up the remaining weeks of their rebuilding season this year.
In 34 games he played this season, Bassey averaged 5.8 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Thankfully, he will still remain under contract with San Antonio after inking a four-year deal worth over $10 million last February.
