Anthony Davis had a massive double-double against the Pelicans as he scored 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Lakers to the win (123-108).

The 30-year-old forward has missed extended time due to an injury earlier this season and although he is playing pain-free now, the Lakers decided not to use him in the back-to-back game against the Rockets.

“Well, he’s not going to play,” Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said about AD after the New Orleans game. “He hasn’t been cleared. Even though he’s playing pain-free, we made an organizational decision starting with our team doctors to hold him out of back-to-back.

“It’s just one of those things where even though he’s playing pain-free, it’s still an active injury. So we have to monitor it, stick with the plan as we always have done and just go out there with other guys and try to get the W and finish the trip the right way.”

This season Davis is averaging 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33.5 minutes per game.
