Despite negativities and uncertainty yet again on Zion Williamson’s health, the New Orleans Pelicans are keeping their optimism glowing.

Per Sam Amick of The Athletic, a source noted that the Pelicans remains expecting that Williamson will be back this season.

“While the Pelicans announced on Wednesday that he would be re-examined in two weeks, a source with knowledge of the situation said the team is still expecting him to be ready before the end of the regular season. When it comes to injury recovery, there is perhaps no more unpredictable player in today’s NBA than Williamson. Nonetheless, significant hope remains that he’ll be healthy in time to be a late game-changer.”

It was reported earlier this week that Williamson will miss approximately two more weeks with his right hamstring strain remains lingering.

The given timetable just inclines this hope by Pelicans for their cornerstone to be back, as the star forward could be activated by the remaining days of March.

After gliding to the West’ top spot with Williamson in the early part of regular season, New Orleans found itself in a tight rope of potentially missing the postseason, 11th in the Conference with a 32-34 record.

As Williamson continues his recovery, the Pelicans will certainly keep their fight alive in order to be back for another contention, regardless of the playoff positioning.
