Next season Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley will enter the final year of his current rookie contract. The first-round pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is on a 4-year, $10 million deal.
According ESPN NBA Front Office insider Bobby Marks, it is rather unlikely that Quickley will be offered an extension in the range of Jordan Poole (4-year, $140 million) or Tyler Herro (4-year, $130 million).
The reason behind that is that the guards are valued less than wings and also because the 23-year-old shooting has not had much of an opportunity to show how he performs in big minutes.
Quickley has recently scored career-high 38 points in 55 minutes in New York’s double-overtime win against the Celtics.
This season Quickley is averaging 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 28 minutes per game.
