NBA rescinds Giannis’ hilarious rebound en route to triple-double vs Wizards

The NBA officially rescinded Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 10th rebound on Milwaukee Bucks’ road win over the Washington Wizards last Sunday, per ESPN’s Zach Lowe

This means that Antetokounmpo came up short of tallying the triple-double, which he initially achieved in a hilarious way during the dying seconds of the game.

In the final possession, Giannis still crossed the midcourt and appeared eager to score more points against Washington. Instead, he went on to throw a shot attempt by hitting the ball to the backboard and eventually grabbed his own rebound.

As pointed out by Lowe, the NBA counts a rebound if a player shoots “with intent to score a field goal,” defying Giannis’ stat-padding action.

Still, the win mattered more for the Greek superstar and the Bucks as they maintain their solo spot at the top of the East with a 46-18 card.
