Russell Westbrook was coming off the bench for the Lakers 49 times this season. He was a candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Since joining the Clippers, he once again became a starter. Most recently the former NBA MVP scored 27 points and dished out 10 assists in the loss against the Kings.

Despite no longer coming off the bench, the 34-year-old point guard thinks he should win the Sixth Man of the Year award. “I did a lot to buy into the system there with the Lakers,” Westbrook said, per Chris Haynes.

Westbrook is averaging 16.5 points over 5 games for the Clippers so far.
