Zalgiris forward Jonas Maciulis could be leaving Lithuania this summer. A member of Lithuania bronze winning squad in Eurobasket 2007 wants an improved contract. The club declared the plans to keep all their players next year but one of the smallest budgets among Euroleague teams could be the main difficulty they could face.
"I like everything here in Kaunas, the fans are great here. Though Zalgiris is not as rich to offer money that other teams can offer. That is the main reason why I could leave", said Maciulis when giving interview to Lietuvos rytas daily.
Jonas Maciulis already received an interest from several Euroleague teams last summer but decied to stay in Kaunas for one more year.
