Sophomore Bones Hyland was traded to the Clippers by the Nuggets before the trade deadline. His new teammate Paul George says that it is difficult for a young to be traded when you expect to continue playing for the team that drafted you.

The former first-round pick is in a good place, according to George. There are plenty of veterans of the team that want to make sure he feels welcome and to mentor him.

Via Bryan Kalbrosky of For The Win:

“For him, we’re going to open our arms. We’re going to welcome him. He’s coming into a situation with a lot of great veterans that can help him and mentor him. At the end of the day, we want what is best for him and his situation. He’s going to have a lot of help. We look forward to the mentorship.”

Hyland has already his debut in Los Angeles as he scored 6 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in the win over the Warriors.

This season the 22-year-old point guard is averaging 12 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3 assists in 19.4 minutes per game.
