Jasmin Repesa named new EA7 Milano head coach

It did not take long for EA7 Emporio Armani Milan to complete its search for a new head coach. After splitting ways with Luca Banchi a day earlier, EA7 Milan named veteran coach Jasmin Repesa as its new boss. The two sides signed a two-year deal on Friday afternoon.

Repesa arrives from Cedevita Zagreb, where he spent the last two seasons and won a pair of Croatian League and Cup doubles. In the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, he led Cedevita to 3-7 regular season record that included road wins against Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and ALBA Berlin.

A native of Croatia, Repesa has 10 years of Euroleague coaching experience, which includes making it all the way to the Euroleague championship game in 2004 with Fortitudo Bologna. He returns to Italy where he also coached Benetton Treviso and Lottomatica Roma.

He won Italian League title with Fortitudo in 2005, and helped Roma make it to the Italian League finals in 2008. Repesa has also coached Cibona Zagreb, Split and Dona Zagreb in Croatia, Tofas Bursa in Turkey, Slask Wroclaw in Poland and Unicaja Malaga in Spain. He led Tofas to the Turkish League and Turkish Cup titles in 1999 and also lifted the Croatian League and Croatian Cup trophies with Cibona in 2002.

Repesa has been the Croatian national team coach on two occasions, from 2006 until 2009, and for two more years in 2012 and 2013.
