NBA Lineup Notes: Wizards, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Thunder

My thoughts on what I think the Wizards & T-Wolves should do with Kyle Kuzma & D’Angelo Russell, plus some New Orleans Pelicans & Oklahoma City Thunder notes.

Washington Wizards

I’d think about trading Kyle Kuzma if I’m the Wizards. To me, Bradley Beal & Kristaps Porzingis are players that don’t come around very often for a club like Washington and still are under 30 years old. Kuzma is a solid scorer, but his poor 3-point shooting (career 33.8% from deep) and improved yet still average defense are areas that many players (whether younger or older) could become better at in DC as that legit two-way 3rd option.

Minnesota Timberwolves

I’d be careful if I’m Minnesota when dealing with D’Angelo Russell’s current situation. If you find a trade for him that works better for right now/in the long run, then do it, but he fits nicely there on and off the court and has improved this season. Playing for the T-Wolves has definitely been a tough sell over the years, and D-Lo seems to be enjoying his time there, so that could mean he might stick around in my opinion.

New Orleans Pelicans

Pelicans guard Devonte’ Graham was known as a clutch shooter who brings instant offense during his time with Charlotte. He’s gotten way less minutes in New Orleans, but I personally believe the soon-to-be 28-year-old’s leadership, scoring, and playmaking are underrated skills that can still help teams.

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC youngsters Darius Bazley & Aaron Wiggins have adjusted to different roles with ease in their short careers. Both bring great attitudes and overall versatility that would fit anywhere.
