An NBA Finals jersey of Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry will have an unlikely but rather touching home in the next few weeks.

This year’s NBA MVP will be repaying a favour from when he was a small child and per Curry’s promise, will be sending his Finals vest to the late Drazen Petrovic’s mother, Biserka and it taking pride and place at the Drazen Petovic Memorial Center in the Croatian capital of Zagreb.

“It will be an honour to see my jersey at Drazen’s museum,” Curry said.

It all began when Stephen’s father Dell Curry was an entrant in the three-point shootout at the All-Star Weekend back in 1992 in Orlando. Biserka kindly took care of the young prodigy, while his father, who lost out to Chicago Bulls’ Craig Hodges took part.

And to this day, the current NBA champion, now 27-years-old has not forgotten Biserka’s kindness back in 1992 and thought that showcasing his jersey at one of basketball’s most prestigious museums would be his personal way of saying thanks.

Stephen, who embraced his father Dell moments after the final buzzer in Game 6 against the Cavs, signalling the Warriors first title in 40 years has never forgotten Petrovic’s memory and one day, will hopefully take a trek to Zagreb to see his Finals-winning vest.
