This summer Kyrie Irving is set to become an unrestricted free agent following expiration of a four-year deal with the Nets.

The 30-year-old point guard, who wanted to stay Brooklyn this past offseason despite Kevin Durant’s trade request, reportedly hopes to sign an extension after the season ends.

According to Marc Stein, the two sides have not discussed the potential extension in a substantial way yet.

This season Irving is averaging 27.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 37.1 minutes per game.
