Two of the NBA’s best big men — Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic — faced each other as the 76ers hosted the Nuggets.
It was Embiid who was victorious with game-high 47 points and 18 rebounds. Jokic, for his part, had 24 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
Both players are among the top candidates to win this year’s MVP award. After the game Embiid was asked about his rivalry with Jokic for the MVP.
“It’s not a rivalry. I love the big fella,” the Cameroonian center said. “Two-time MVP. One of the best players in the league. I’m a big fan.”
