Despite being one of the best players in the NBA, Joel Embiid is yet to win an MVP award. He came close last season as he finished second behind Nikola Jokic who won his second straight MVP.
The two big men squared off last night with the 76ers taking the win agains the Nuggets (126-119). Embiid finished the game with a massive double-double of 47 points and 18 rebounds.
After the game he talked about his MVP case, saying that he is done arguing for himself. Instead, he is focused on winning a championship.

“I don’t know. That’s up to you guys to decide,” Embiid told ESPN with a smile, referring to the media, who votes for MVP and the other season-ending awards. “Like I told you, I’m done arguing for myself. It’s all out there. Whatever I do.
“But the focus is on winning. As long as we win, I know everything is going to take care of itself. If we keep winning, and everyone stays healthy, I’ve got a better chance of going out there and winning a championship.”
This season Embiid is averaging 33.4 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 34.8 minutes per game.
