Even Nikola Jokic is wondering about the fact that Joel Embiid isn’t set to start in the upcoming 2023 All-Star Game.
Ahead of their heavyweight collision on Saturday, the reigning two-time MVP aired his personal views and seemed surprised that Embiid was robbed to start in the All-Star match next month.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, and Jayson Tatum filling the overpowered East’s frontcourt from the votes of fans, media, and players, Embiid came up short in inserting himself to start – which created a raucous reaction and backlash from Philly fans.
As such, Embiid established himself as a clear-cut All-Star this year, averaging an NBA’s best 33.4 points while grabbing 9.8 boards, 4.1 assists, and shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
After a sluggish start, he led the Sixers to a blazing emergence, now the Eastern Conference’s second seed (31-16) and riding a six-game win streak.
