Jonathan Kuminga picks Kyrie Irving over Ja Morant as a player harder to guard

Playing back-to-back games against the Brooklyn Nets and the Memphis Grizzlies, Jonathan Kuminga had a daunting assignment of guarding both Kyrie Irving and Ja Morant.

But the young Golden State Warriors forward made it known who was the most difficult to guard between the two.

“It was even tougher guarding Kyrie than guarding Ja,” Kuminga said, via Monte Poole of NBC Sports. “[Kyrie] has everything.”

For context, Irving willed his Nets team against Kuminga and the Warriors. Sans Durant, the All-Star guard dropped 38 points and nine markers on the 120-116 victory.

As such, Morant himself was spectacular on Wednesday against the Dubs. Though they fell in a heartbreaking 122-120 defeat, Morant pulled off 29 points and 12 assists in the losing effort.

Irving being in the league for over a decade gave him an experience edge on Morant, but it is also hard to ignore how challenging the Grizzlies star is on a nightly basis.

At the end of the day, both guards are indeed special in their own ways.
