John Wall believes Wizards to ‘beat the sh*t out’ of LeBron James, Cavs in 16-17 Playoffs

In the mid-2010s, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were invincible forces in the Eastern Conference, but John Wall firmly believes that he can topple them with his Washington Wizards squad from the year 2016-2017.

If they were able to get past the Boston Celtics to face James and the Cavs in the 2017 Conference Finals, Wall proclaimed that they would “gonna beat the s–t” out of the four-time MVP in a seven-game series.

“We was going to beat the sh*t out of LeBron,” Wall said, via Sports Illustrated.

“I’m telling you, if you interview anybody on the Cavs, that was one team they did not want to see in the East,” Wall noted. “Me and Kyrie, we matching up. I’m taking Brad over J.R. You got Bron over Trevor Ariza. I’m taking you know who. Kevin Love and Markieff Morris, I’m taking Kevin Love, but Markieff Morris can shoot threes and post up. I’m taking Gortat over Tristan Thompson, and our bench was deeper than theirs.”

Surely enough, the 2016-17 Wizards was an elite team powered by the pre-injury-riddled John Wall and budding star Bradley Beal. They coasted their way atop the East’s ladder and compiled a 49-33 record.

After dismantling the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, the Wizards were put to a test by the top-seeded Boston Celtics. In seven games, Celtics’ main man Isaiah Thomas, who had a worsening hip while enduring the loss of his sister, walloped them out of the postseason stage for the right to face James and Cleveland in the Conference Finals.

Their downfall against the ailing Thomas and Boston was just enough to claim that they weren’t able to handle the full-powered Cavs at that time, who were steamrolling as an all-time offensive machine fueled by James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love and only stopped by an unstoppable Kevin Durant-led Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Wall might be way too subjective in his belief, but James and the Cavs were too overpowering on their second time of partnership wherein no other Eastern Conference team has kicked them out of their reign and supremacy.
