Draymond Green on his honest reaction to N-word last Finals ahead of Dubs-Celtics clash in Boston

As expected, Draymond Green isn’t very much expecting a warm reception from the Celtics fans ahead of their visit to Boston for the first time since clinching their fifth overall title back in June last year.

The Golden State Warriors veteran told ESPN’s Kendra Andrews that he can only give nothing but a good response for the diehard Cs faithful.

“I’ll greet them with a nice smile,” Green said. “Just as I did after we won the championship.”

Green, who narrated his unwanted encounter with Boston fans in the last NBA Finals, was very much particular about the N-word he received from all the three games they played within the jampacked TD Garden.

The star big man is very much honest by noting that the said moments took time for him to adjust.

“You usually have situations where people talk crazy, but not the entire arena,” Green told Andrews. “You’ll have a situation where an entire arena will boo you, but not what the Boston fans were doing. So, it was just a different situation than I had ever seen. It took a while to adjust to it. … It was just so unexpected. It caught me off guard.”

The Warriors and the Celtics are set to collide for the second time this 2022-23 season on Thursday, with the former clawing the first blood last Dec. 10 in San Francisco, 123-107.
