Apparently, Mark Cuban has downplayed the recent swirling rumors about his superstar cager hinting at some help.

The Dallas Mavericks governor denied a Wednesday report by ESPN which suggests that Luka Doncic is “strongly” pushing the franchise to orchestrate moves for an upgrade ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline this season.

It was Tim MacMahon of ESPN who published the story, which the longtime owner vehemently rejected.

Moreover, Cuban indicated that both Doncic and team general manager Nico Harrison are keeping in touch, in which the Slovenian phenom is very much supportive of their direction.

The topic of Doncic having no ample solid help within Dallas has been a narrative since the previous years, with many questioning the franchise brass’ decision-making to construct a well-rounded team that will strongly back him up for a clearer title run.

Currently this season, Doncic got a great right-hand man in the likes of Christian Wood and Spencer Dinwiddie while also having trustworthy role-player units of Dorian Finney-Smith, Tim Hardaway Jr., Reggie Bullock, and Maxi Kleber.

The lineup looks promising on paper, but they are definitely a concern without Doncic. This season, the Mavs are 0-5 when the young superstar is unavailable.

With the season still on its way towards the middle, the Mavs still have plenty of time to not waste their title window being opened by Doncic. Regardless if the franchise cornerstone has requested to deliver some moves or not, it has to be mandatory for Cuban and the Mavericks to supply him with much-needed assistance in preparation for their soon-championship hunt.
