Pistons act to make Jalen Duren available for Paris Games vs Bulls after missing passport

One Detroit Pistons player could miss the chance to perform in front of excited French basketball fans.

Big man Jalen Duren reportedly lost his passport ahead of his Pistons’ upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, per James L. Edwards III of The Athletic. The matchup between the two teams is set to take place in a highly anticipated NBA Paris Games this season.

As such, Edwards III added that the Pistons organization is already “working and hoping” that the rookie will be eligible to play in the said duel overseas.

The upcoming game between Chicago and Detroit will be the 12th time that an NBA game will be played in France since 1991. The said contest will take place in Accor Arena in Paris.

The 13th overall pick in the recent NBA Draft, Duren was traded twice on the rookie selection day and eventually landed in the Motor City.

This season, he is averaging 7.7 points and 8.5 boards in 39 games (15 starts). The 18-year-old center is also shooting a highly efficient 63.4 percent from the field.
