Nets duo Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving received high praise from the Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra ahead of the game between the two teams.
“There’s great players in this league, and then there’s great players that are [on] a different level,” Spoelstra said about the duo, per Nick Friedell. “You can’t really do anything to scheme against them, you just have to do what you do extremely well. You can’t make mistakes.”
Brooklyn ended up winning the game by a single point (102-101). Irving scored game-high 29 points, while Durant added 17 before he had to leave the game due to a knee injury.
KD is averaging 30 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 36.1 minutes per game this season, while Kyrie is averaging 25.9 points, 5 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 36.4 minutes per game.
