The San Antonio Spurs have tapped the service again of Gorgui Dieng after days of parting ways, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Dieng will come back to the Spurs’ lineup on a 10-day agreement.
Dieng inked a one-year deal with the Spurs prior to this season. As such, he received minimal playing time under Gregg Popovich, appearing in just 13 games while averaging 4.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.
Now at 33 years of age, Dieng’s on-court production appears not that very much needed, as the club seems to prioritize his leadership and presence on their growing young core.
After being guaranteed to earn $2.64 million in salary, Dieng has an opportunity to earn more with the Spurs on the brief stay that he will make this time around.
