Amid the recent reports that suggest his disinterest to forge an extended partnership, Jordan Clarkson is indeed looking to land a new deal alongside the Utah Jazz.

Per Tony Jones of The Athletic, Clarkson and the Jazz are still mutually interested to work for a deal. Added by Jones, the key component of their connection is that both sides will continue to talk about a new deal, with the club seeing Clarkson as an important young piece to complement their ongoing rebuild.

It was detailed by Marc Stein that Clarkson rejected the offer handed by the Jazz, which briefly created speculations that the club might head to cut their ties with him.

Clarkson still has a $14.2 million player option for the next season, in which he may opt out for the possibility to earn a new and bigger contract. As such, with his intent inclined with the Utah brass, it is safe to assume that they may reach for a potential deal following this season.

After all, the fact that Clarkson wasn’t shipped by the Jazz on the fire sale they’ve made on Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and Bojan Bogdanovic, he is being held with such high regard by the club.

This season, Clarkson is averaging career-high 20.6 points to go with 4.5 assists and 3.9 boards in 40 games he played.
