Zalgiris Kaunas guard Keenan Evans already had surgery and will stay out of action for six to eight months.

Per Zalgiris‘ press release: “The American guard suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in the first minute of Thursday night’s game against Fenerbahce Istanbul.

The player felt a sharp pain after landing on the floor. Immediately after the injury, Zalgiris‘ guard was taken to Gijos clinics, where the tests confirmed the diagnosis of a ruptured Achilles tendon.

After the tests, Evans was immediately operated on by orthopedic traumatologist Prof. Rimtautas Gudas. He will need six to eight months of rehabilitation.

This season, he had a fantastic performance in the Euroleague. Before the injury, he was the team’s most productive and useful player in the competition with averages of 16.8 points and 18.4 assists.”
