Giannis Antetokounmpo summons dominance, punches career-high 55 points to lead Bucks against Wizards

Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined this season’s ongoing scoring party.

Pacing the Milwaukee Bucks on a 123-113 win over the Washington Wizards, Antetokounmpo channeled his inner Greek basketball god powers with an overpowering 55 points.

Flashing thunderous dunks and enchanting the Fiserv Forum crowd with his sheer strength, his individual scoring output this Tuesday serves now as his career high.

“I want to get in a position … that my game is boring,” Antetokounmpo said, via ESPN. “I just do what I do and people don’t talk about it because it becomes boring – I do it every single night. That’s what I want to do. I want other people to feel like my game is boring. But I don’t get bored. The greats – the best players – never get bored. They go out there and they always give their best any given night.”

Antetokounmpo also crashed 10 boards and dished out seven dimes in the thrilling win. His all-around performance over Washington gave him three-straight games of having at least 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.

He made history as the newest member of this feat, joining Elgin Baylor (1963), Wilt Chamberlain (1963), and Russell Westbrook (2017).

“He’s been kind of playing with this kind of determination, this kind of just willing us in games,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said of Giannis’ effort. “Tonight we were able to win it. He’s just been phenomenal.”

Brook Lopez aided Antetokounmpo with his 21 markers and 12 boards. Bobby Portis was also superb off the bench, chipping a 17-point, 13-board double-double.

For Washington, six players have recorded double-digit scoring that was led by Kristaps Porzingis’ 22 points. But their collective effort wasn’t enough to topple the Bucks being carried by Antetokounmpo.
