Mike Brown clears COVID protocols, sets to return on Kings’ sidelines vs Jazz

Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown has cleared the league’s health and safety protocols, per Jason Anderon of Sacramento Bee. As such, he will make his return from coaching duties this Friday against the Utah Jazz.

Brown had mild symptoms and entered the protocols on Tuesday. He missed the last two games of Sacramento against the Denver Nuggets in which associate head coach Jordi Fernandez took over temporarily to call the shots.

The Kings split their back-to-back matchup against the Nuggets, losing first on Tuesday (113-106) but managed to bounce back on Wednesday with a narrow 127-126 victory behind Domantas Sabonis’ robust output.

So far, Brown is doing a remarkable job in his first year back of head coaching by trying to turn the fortunes of the Kings franchise that is looking to snap their 16-year postseason drought. The club is currently the seventh-seeded in the Western Conference with an 18-15 win-loss card.
