Windhorst: Anthony Davis’ injury ‘more concerning’ amid earlier reports of condition

Questions continue to pile up around the Los Angeles Lakers about Anthony Davis, but the latest note about the All-Star big man’s injury status appears grimy as it is.

While several sources have noted that Davis will be out for at least a month after sustaining a right foot injury last week against the Denver Nuggets, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst meanwhile stated in his Hoop Collective podcast that the center’s injury appears “not good” and “something more concerning.”

“He’s not gonna be out a game or two, he’s gonna be out an extended period. Hopefully, it’s an injury he can get some treatment on and get it healed. It’s not good, it’s not a sprained ankle, it’s not a sprained foot. From what I understand, it’s something more concerning than that.”

It’s been days have passed and the Lakers haven’t provided any substantial information about Davis’s condition, and this absence of an update can only build up further speculations.

Should Davis is set to miss a chunky of games, it would be really disastrous from an individual and collective standpoint for the Lakers. The star big man is enjoying the best season of his career so far while carrying the heavy load as the franchise’s top option.

Not only that, Davis’s timetable of return can bring a huge swing about L.A.’s intentions as they try to content this 2022-23, with their two future first-round picks gaining hefty coverage and considerations.
