With plenty of murmurs tagging him around, there is a chance that Patrick Beverley might find himself back in the Twin Cities.

Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, if Beverley gets ultimately traded by the Los Angeles Lakers on a rebuilding team like the Detroit Pistons which circles around Bojan Bogdanovic, the veteran guard will desire to make a return to the Minnesota Timberwolves upon being a free-agent via a buyout.

“Should Beverley ultimately get moved to a rebuilding situation like the Pistons, the grizzled guard has a desire to return to Minnesota, sources said, should he reach free agency via buyout.”

Beverley served as the most prized acquisition by the Lakers last summer, but he is currently inconsistent and a black hole this season under Darvin Ham, averaging lowly numbers of 4.6 points in a career-worst 30.3 shooting efficiency to go with 3.7 boards, and 2.4 assists despite playing 26.5 minutes in 21 games.

His underwhelming showing so far became the main medium of himself being thrown around the trade conversations around the league, with the Lakers still looking to retool and climb higher atop the Western Conference mountain.

As such, the idea of Beverley igniting a reunion with Minnesota can’t even be more delightful. With his outspoken attitude, gutsy demeanor, and leadership, he notably established a culture around the young squad last season which ultimately helped the franchise to be back in the postseason.

With the Timberwolves looking for a more passionate fire around them, having Beverley back and barking will be helpful as they aim to reach their desired place with the newly acquired Rudy Gobert.
